ASI Events on the National Dementia Strategy:

  • Clinicians Roundtable on the National Dementia Strategy- in December 2015, ASI hosted a multi-disciplinary clinicians round table to examine progress on the NDS. This event was a good opportunity for attendees to learn more about the Strategy, its contents and implementation, and to reflect on whether the NDS has delivered more integrated and collaborative approaches to dementia care. This event was a follow-up to a successful multi-disciplinary round-table held in 2013, which assisted the original development of the NDS.
  • Meetings with Political Representatives- from 2011 onwards, ASI has held regular meetings with cross-party political representatives to keep them updated on the development and implementation of the National Dementia Strategy. In March 2015, Deputy Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin kindly hosted ASI at a briefing in the AV Room of Leinster House. This was an excellent opportunity to update representatives on the National Dementia Strategy and to secure their support for its implementation. A report on this event is available here
