James Nevin

James is a retired teacher of agricultural engineering who lectured on the topic for more than thirty years. He has been involved in the community and voluntary sector for more three decades and served as Safety Officer at Ballyhaise College.

James is a trained manual handling instructor and assessor and professional First Aider. He also served as Chairperson of the Professional Agricultural Officers Association branch of Impact for five years.

James served as Chairperson, Secretary and Treasurer of Ballyhaise Development Association and led the building of the local community centre there. James is also Treasurer of the Cavan branch of  the ASI.

We offer a range of services for people with Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia, their families and carers. All our services operate using the philosophy of person centred care.

Fundraising is an extremely important source of revenue for our services and takes place locally across Ireland as well as through national events and campaigns. We aim is to raise €5 million a year.

The Alzheimer Society of Ireland has, since it was founded, campaigned on behalf of people with dementia and their carers to improve the lives of all those affected by dementia.
