Developing Dementia Friendly Communities in Ireland

The Alzheimer Society of Ireland is playing a significant role in providing the leadership on the Dementia Friendly Communities initiative in terms of educating the internal and external stakeholders. We work as a leader and a conduit for bringing together the players, laying the ground work and providing the personnel and the resources to implement the project.

The Alzheimer Society of Ireland is working with seven projects across Ireland to support them to play their part in making their local community more ‘dementia-friendly’. The seven communities involved are located in Co Donegal, Galway city, Ballina/Killaloe in Co Clare, Mallow in Co Cork, Callan in Co Kilkenny, Cavan town, and Co Wicklow.

Monitoring Tool

Each of the projects are being monitored and evaluated as they progress to capture the learning and outcomes from each.
