This month, Claire Jones (Physiotherapist, Connolly Hospital) will be talking to us about ways to remain physically active. Drogheda Memory Café Louth: Tuesday, September 10th, 6pm-8pm,  Memory Café is organised by the Drogheda ASI Branch, and takes place 2nd Tuesday of every month at Relish Café, Laurence St., Drogheda 6-8pm. On September 10th with Guest Speaker, Ann Marron HSE Dementia Case Manager discussing Communication through Validation. Raheen Vintage Club Fundraiser Laois: Sunday, September 15th 11am Register, Depart 12.30pm , Raheen vintage club are celebrating their 10th birthday with a very special vintage run supporting Laois Alzheimer’s Society Branch. Vintage cars, vintage and modern tractors, motorbikes and lorries are welcome on the day. Fundraising walk: Bistro XVIII in Kenmare, Co Kerry will be hosting a special night of music and fund for World Alzheimer’s Day on Saturday, 21st September. Eilish Dunne will be walking that day from Kenmare to Killarney on route to Kilgarvan.

Open Day: Our Lily of the Valley Day Care Centre in Rathdrum, Co Wicklow is holding an Open Day to mark World Alzheimer’s Month. They are looking to raise awareness of their facilities and supports in Wicklow (Day Centres, Social Clubs, Support Group), show you around our centre and explain the variety of services we offer. Light refreshments will be on offer on the day. The event will take place at Lily of the Valley Day Care Centre, Nolan House, Rathdrum, Co Wicklow – A67 P293 on Thursday 26th September (2.00pm-3.30pm). Forget-me-not Cafe: Wednesday 25th September from 11am till 12.30pm in Castlemanor Community Centre, Co Cavan. The Café is open on the last Wednesday of every month.

Family Carer Course Donegal: Friday, September 27th 10am-4pm, Free one day courses run by Dementia Aware Donegal are held on a regular basis. This highly recommended course is for those caring for someone with dementia. Facilitated by Gerry Farrell. Venue: Education Centre at St. Conal’s Hospital in Letterkenny. An evening of football and fun and all in aid of our dementia services in Wexford.
