ASI 2019 Scholarship Fund
ASI recognises that one of the most pressing needs in dementia research today is funding support for early career researchers. Scholarships allow deserving student researchers to attain their educational goals, meet their professional objectives and succeed to their fullest ability. ASI recognises scholarships as an effective tool to improve and encourage retention of early career researchers in dementia research.
ASI will shortly invite applications for its scholarship programme for 2019. The scholarship is intended to fund one PhD research projects that has the potential to advance knowledge and address existing gaps in dementia research.
The amount of the award will depend on the nature of the work proposed but the maximum total value of a fellowship cannot exceed €17,000.
It will be imperative that the proposed subject of PhD research is drawn from ASI’s research prioritisation list, currently being developed through a consensus process.
There will be 4 stages for assessing the proposals:
Following receipt of the application it will be reviewed to ensure that the eligibility requirements are met
Applications meeting the requirements at stage 1 will be sent to external assessors for review using the attached criteria for assessment
Assessors will present their reports to ASI’s Research Manager
The Research Manager will identify the successful applicant. All decisions on the awarding of scholarships will be final.
