At The Alzheimer Society of Ireland we are committed to making our website accessible, in accordance with S.I. No. 358/2020 – European Union (Accessibility of Websites and Mobile Applications of Public Sector Bodies) Regulations 2020 and S.I. No. 636/2023 – European Union (Accessibility Requirements of Products and Services) Regulations 2023.

Accessibility features of this website

Non-accessible content

  • Some images on the site are missing alternative text, notably images of text that lack an alternative version of the content within the image.
  • Some headings used on the site are not the correct level or appear in the incorrect order.
  • Some content in the footer can’t be accessed on mobile screens in landscape mode.
  • When text is zoomed in or spacing is adjusted, there are some instances where text overlaps other content or is cut off, making it difficult to read.
  • Some colours used on the site do not have sufficient contrast with the background colour.
  • The Events calendar is very difficult to use when navigating with a keyboard.
  • Links and buttons throughout the site do not have any visible keyboard focus.
  • The site is missing a skip to content link that allows users to skip the header navigation links.
  • Image slideshows on the site are missing a way of pausing the slideshow.
  • Forms are missing clear labels and form error messages are not easy to understand.
