The Dementia Carers Campaign Network Podcast: Caring in the LGBT+ Community
The DemTalks Podcast – series one, the Dementia Carers Campaign Network (DCCN), launched in 2023. The first episode of the podcast is dedicated to Caring in the LGBT+ Community. James O’ Hagan from LGBT Ireland and Zoe Hughes from Care Alliance Ireland feature in the episode along with choreographer and performer Philip Connaughton and DCCN member Paddy Crosbie (pictured). Paddy cared for his husband Derek Simpson, who passed away in 2021 after living with Young-Onset Dementia.

Dublin Pride March 2023
ASI Staff and Supporters proudly marched in Dublin Pride in June 2023 in support of LGBTQIA+ friends, colleagues, supporters and people affected by dementia and their loved ones.
Alzheimer Europe: Sex, Gender and Sexuality in the Context of Dementia
In 2023, Alzheimer Europe developed a comprehensive resource to increase the awareness of sex, gender and sexuality for health and social care staff. These recommendations are on how to provide sensitive, appropriate and quality care and support to people with dementia and their carers/supporters of different sexes, gender identities and sexual orientations.
