World Alzheimer’s Month 2025 – Ask About Alzheimer’s, Ask About Dementia

Dementia is one of the major global health challenges with more than 55 million people living with the condition worldwide. Currently, over 64,000 people live with dementia in Ireland, and number of people will more than double by 2045.
Every September, people come together from all around the world to raise awareness and to challenge the stigma that persists around dementia.
World Alzheimer’s Day is held on Sunday, September 21st.
#AskAboutDementia #AskAboutAlzheimers
This year’s World Alzheimer’s Month campaign advocates for greater awareness and understanding of dementia, encouraging people to ask questions and learn more about the condition. Using the hashtags #AskAboutDementia and #AskAboutAlzheimers, the campaign aims to shift perceptions and normalise conversations around dementia and its impact.

What can I do to support World Alzheimer’s Month?
This World Alzheimer’s Day, thousands of feet will hit the ground for one powerful reason — to walk for memories, for awareness, and to help raise vital funds for people living with dementia and their families.
Join Alzheimer’s Memory Walk supported by Aviva on Sunday, September 21st, as we come together in locations across the country to remember and honour those living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia – and the families who stand beside them every step of the way.
By walking, sharing, and asking questions about Alzheimer’s and dementia, we can help challenge stigma.
