Social Prescribing Service

Social Activities

Overview

Social Prescribing is a referral system used by GP’s and other Health Care Professionals to refer people to a Social Prescriber/Link Worker. They will give advice  and information on services in their area. Following a few conversations, they will link the participant to local, voluntary and community organisations and services.  These include physical activity initiatives like Parkrun, walking groups, reading groups/books for health, library services, stress prevention/management programmes, self help, adult education, men’s sheds, community gardening, arts and creativity and many more. Many places accept Self referrals. Fore more information, click HERE
