Our Dementia Advisers work with people with dementia, their families and carers to provide a highly responsive and individualised information and signposting service. This service is free and confidential. Dementia Advisers are currently doing home visits in line with public health advice and COVID 19 restrictions.  Dementia Advisers continue to provide support over the phone

Our Dementia Advisers work with people with dementia, their families and carers to provide a highly responsive and individualised information and signposting service.

Our local Dementia Adviser will work with you to:

  • Provide information and advice throughout your journey with dementia,
  • Help connect you with dementia supports and services,
  • Help connect you with local groups and services and,
  • Help your community to be more dementia friendly.

In 2017, ASI carried out a client survey to understand peoples experience with the dementia adviser service and the impact it had for them and their family. This will in turn help us to deliver the best possible service and to advocate for more dementia advisers in Ireland. You can read the results of the survey here

If there is no Dementia Adviser in your area our Helpline Advisers are available to help people living anywhere in Ireland. Our Helpline Advisers will work with you to help meet your information and support needs and help you to contact local supports and services in your community. News Update

The ASI received funding late in 2020 from the HSE/Slaintecare to expand our Dementia Advisor Service. We are working collaboratively with the National Dementia Office to deliver a nationwide DA service.

Launch of expanded Service

The HSE’s National Dementia Office and The ASI hosted an online webinar to launch the expanded National Dementia Adviser Service on Wednesday, 10th November. You can view the full webinar on The ASI’s YouTube channel here
