Virtual Dementia Nurse
A 1:1 telephone or video conference call with a Dementia Nurse. This creates a space for people with dementia and / or their families to raise issues that may be arising for them during the cocooning phase of the COVID 19 Emergency.

Note:
The Alzheimer Society of Ireland’s National Helpline is expanding with a new free call-back service which offers people with dementia and family carers the opportunity to book a 1:1 session with a Dementia Nurse or a Dementia Adviser during the COVID-19 public health emergency. Call the Helpline on 1800 341 341 to make an appointment.
Dementia Adviser
Our Dementia Advisers work with people with dementia, their families and carers to provide a highly responsive and individualised information and signposting service. No Dementia Advisers are doing any Home Visits at the moment - the support is only over the phone for the time being due to Covid-19 restrictions.
Note:
Dementia Adviser Dawn Thompson is available to people living in County Donegal. This service is free and confidential.
Online Family Carer Training
We offer training to family carers looking after a loved one with dementia. Family carers can either be the primary carers for the person with dementia or those indirectly involved in caring

Online Family Carer Supports
We have recently launched a new Online Support Group for Family Carers of People with Dementia to help alleviate the increasing pressure points on family carers during Covid-19.

Our home care service offers dementia specific, person centred care and our trained staff work with clients to ensure that we meet your needs.
Donegal Home Care
Contact our home care coordinator above. Our home care coordinators will carry out an initial assessment on clients.
To help with this assessment we ask that a referral form is completed and sent to the home care service you are interested in.

Day Care at Home
The Day Care at Home service provides an interim alternative model of care and support to our clients and families while our face-to-face Day Care Centres remain temporarily closed due to the Covid-19 health crisis.

We ask that a referral form is completed and this form requires confirmation of a diagnosis of dementia from a GP or consultant.

Clinical Care
Note:
The clinical care team are part of a multidisciplinary team that provides specialist mental health services to older people. They work in partnership with GP's, hospitals and other local health care and social services. Majority of clinical care services will require a referral from a GP.
